Anthrax and bafflement do not mix. Well actually they do mix occasionally, but they shouldn't mix, because it means more death and destruction, right? Right?
Anyway, the New York Daily News reports "Experts baffled by case". While we applaud the use of "baffled" in the headline, they are obviously trying to downplay the story compared to an accurate headline, which would read "Experts baffled by DEADLY ANTHRAX case."
Who is baffled: "experts" or something. Hey look over there!

Oh, great. Something baffling is bombarding us from outside our galaxy.
The Chicago Chronicle reports that "Auger scientists seek to pierce the secrets of a phenomenon that has baffled scientists for nearly seven decades: what is the mysterious source from beyond the galaxy that periodically bombards Earth with high-energy cosmic rays?"

Why does the thought of gigantic houseplants baffling flower experts scare me?
I don't want any uncertainty in the world of houseplants. I'm sorry, but I need stability in that area.
Regardless, a Horsham, UK woman was literally "flabbergasted" by a gigantic houseplant that has baffled flower experts and "sent ripples of excitement through the horticultural world."

Australian eels are dying! Dammit, scientists, think of something!
Thousands of Australian eels are dying. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but the important thing is that scientists are baffled.
"Australian scientists say they are baffled by the mass deaths of thousands of eels..."
